Restyling of 2012 – Mercedes-Benz E-class

Many of our readers will be able to recall the news recently, in which we have covered the topic of the restyled Mercedes-Benz E-class in order for this car to fit with the demands of the modern 2012 market. Therefore today we are going to elaborate on the inner side of the E-class model, particularly its functional and engine innovations, which were brought by the company.

The range of diesel engines for the new Mercedes-Benz E-class will start with a 2.1-liter 136-horsepower engine, mounted on the Mercedes-Benz E 200 CDI. The same engine, but in the 170 – and 204-hp version will be installed by the specialists on the models E 220 CDI and E 250 CDI, respectively. At the same time, in the mentioned above models of the interesting name – E 300 CDI and E 350 CDI there is going to be established a 3.0-liter diesel engine, capable, depending on the version, to develop the 231 and 265 hp respectively. All engines will be equipped with a modern and new seven-speed automatic transmission gear box

However, at the same time, there were some news that the Mercedes-Benz concern is now developing a nine-speed automatic transmission, that was going to be added to the E-Class 2012 models. But the company did not manage to do that on time, so we are waiting for it in the future.
