Mercedes-Benz will hold a presentation of new hydrogen crossover in 2017

Next year German car brand Mercedes-Benz intends to make a presentation of its new crossover, which will be equipped with non-conventional power plant. This was reported by foreign automobile editions. According to them, during 2017 Mercedes-Benz brand intends to present the car to be fitted with a hydrogen engine. According to the head of the brand’s research department, Thomas Weber, Mercedes-Benz has being working on a development of such power plant for more than 5 years, thus making it clear that the power unit has a fairly mature age.

As for the specific model, it is known that the basis for the new items will become the chassis of the full-size crossover Mercedes-Benz GLC. Many details of the vehicle will be borrowed from the same model. Car will be able to pass at least 600 kilometers at one fuel filling. The price of the car will be around 70 thousand Euros. The hydrogen crossover will appear on the assembly line in 2020.

It was announced that the novelty will receive the name GLC F-Cell, and it will be able to compete with Toyota Mirai and Honda FCV Clarity. Next hydrogen powered car is expected to be developed by BMW.
