The international company Mercedes-Benz is planning to change the names of the models, according to the information published recently by the British edition of the Car, popular auto magazine. The manufacturer expects to save the expenses of their customers, which are caused because of the confusion in the notation, which is more due to the ever-increasing range. In fact, it is true, as some marketing people note, that it is very difficult to keep up with the new models of the company.

In the nearest future, Mercedes-Benz Company will leave three main prefix for its models: the letter «G» will retain to all SUVs and crossovers, “C”, in turn, will belong to the coupes and convertibles, and «SL» to all the sports cars under the brand. This decision was made by the headquarters of the company and all the needed recourses for this change are being gathered.

Thus, the front-drive compact “four-door coupe”, built on the platform of A-Class, will be named CLA. Previously, this model was planned to be called CLC, however, in accordance with the new rules, the second letter “C” can only refer to a car owned by the family of C-Class. This in turn will be a bit confusing in the beginning, but in the future everything will work smoothly.
