2015 New Mercedes-Benz GLA250 4Matic, GLA45 AMG hot hatchbacks

Mercedes finally revealed technical details about its new Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class 2014. The manufacturer offers two distinct models: the GLA250 is an introductory model, and GLA45 AMG, which is more expensive, powerful and sporty. Both of them have Mercedes 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. But the base front-wheel-drive model is expected in 2015.

The future GLA-Class will be powered by a range of two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines: a 2.0-liter turbo developing 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque for GLA250 4Matic; GLA45AMG power will come from a hand-built 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine making an impressive 355 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Both of them will be hooked up to the seven-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox. GLA250 will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.9 seconds. GLA45AMG will be quicker; it will speed up to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The engineers will install an upright star-styled grille, Bi-Xenon headlamps, LED running lights, chrome roof rails to the GLA250.

Both cars are fun to drive, they have an accurate steering and minimum body roll. The safety system includes a Collision Prevention Assist, an autonomous braking and 8 standard airbags. Blind-spot detection and Lane departure warning are optional. The GLA250’s Mercedes Sport package is available and implies 19-inch alloy wheels, AMG bodywork and advanced bigger front brake rotors.
