Mercedes-Benz C350 Plug-In Hybrid presented in Detroit

At the Detroit North American International Auto Show Mercedes-Benz has introduced a rechargeable hybrid car C350 Plug-In Hybrid. Orders for the new product will take a few days, and its sales will start in March 2015.

Mercedes-Benz C 350 Plug-In Hybrid received power unit, consisting of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine (208 hp) and an electric motor (80 hp). Thus, the maximum total capacity of the unit is 205 kW (288 hp) and maximum torque of 599 Nm. Paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission 7G-TRONIC, the car accelerates to 100 km / h in 5.9 seconds.

Gasoline engine is supplemented with an electric motor, which provides an additional 80 “horses” and 340 Newton meters of torque. The total output of the hybrid system achieves 279 horsepower; torque is 600 Newton meters.

Located under the boot floor unit lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 6.2 kWh. Only electric traction vehicle can cover a distance of about 30 km. Recharging the batteries from the special unit takes less than two hours. Of course, there is a system for regenerative braking.
