Next year Mercedes brand will present the five-door AMG GT car at one of the major auto shows. The novelty will be available on the European markets in September 2018. It will be the most powerful civil Mercedes, which win on the engine’s output among Mercedes-AMG GT sports cars and V12 models.

The novelty will be built on the MRA modular platform borrowed from the E-class with a front double wishbone suspension and multi-link at rear. There also will be added adaptive shock absorbers and pneumatic springs. However, the main advantages will be presented by plants, presumably, even by two plants.

As an insider information says, the five-door Mercedes-AMG GT will go on sale in a hybrid variant. The all-wheel drive model will receive a technical filling that was used for the concept car. The front part will be equipped by the standard V8 4.0 engine with two turbochargers; on the rear axle a driver will find an electric motor and lithium-ion battery. The total output of the power plant will exceed 800 horsepower. In 2019 the engineers will develop the hatchback supplied by only a petrol motor, in particular four-liter biturbo 8-cylinder one. Its output will be about 600-hp.
