“Unmanned” Mercedes are drive on American roads

The German company Mercedes-Benz has received permission from the authorities of California for road testing vehicles with autonomous control, according to the press service of the concern Daimler AG.

Commenting on the decision of the California authorities, head of development and research of Daimler Thomas Weber noted that traffic in the US is very different from the German and before displaying such modifications of cars on American roads they need to “teach” the rules and peculiarities of driving in the United States. As explained by Weber, American track and wider than most German are six to eight lanes.
