Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ on the stand in Paris

At the Paris Auto Show there has been presented the concept car Generation EQ from Mercedes-Benz Company. The novelty is the first electric model in a new sub-brand’s line-up. The new SUV has got some avant-garde features. The carmakers installed the LED lamps into the headlights as well as they are used for grille and side sills’ illumination. The new design also excludes the door hands and mirrors availability changing the last ones by cameras. The cabin is supplied by four personal sports chairs and a steering wheel with sensor buttons. In addition, 24-inch screen on the panel looks great.

There is some information about technical characteristics of the concept. Each axle is equipped by an electric motor. The total output is equal to 408-hp and 700 Nm. The four-wheel drive EV crossover is able to get the first 100 km/h less than in 5 seconds. The battery’s capacity is 70 kW that provides almost 600 km driving distance. To move 100 km will be possible after 5 minutes charging.

The concept model is provided by an autopilot but what is more important is that the car can share the data with other vehicles. Navigation chooses the route, taking into account the battery level. The crossover can become a production version from 2019 year.
