Mercedes-AMG Project One is a new chapter of car’s history

Mercedes-AMG Project One is the hottest one among the cars ever developed by brand’s engineers. The super hybrid accelerates to 200 km/h in less than 6 seconds and its top speed makes 350 km/h. Tobias Moers, AMG boss, says that the technological powers put the novelty on a new step. Although Project One showed in Frankfurt is considered as a concept, 275 production copies have already been sold at prices from 2 275 000 Euros.

The new AMG is based on the Mercedes F1 W06 Hybrid formula car. It also has got a carbon-fiber monocoque, front and rear multi-link suspensions and carbon-ceramic brakes. The carmakers also developed unique 10-spoke wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (285/35 ZR19). They can dissipate heat from the brakes.

The interior has received a minimalism style. The driver and passenger zones are separated by a central tunnel. Behind the seats there are compartments for things. The steering reminds of the Formula-1. The main information is displayed on two 10-inch displays. The interior mirror is replaced by a screen that translates the picture from the rear view camera. The Comand multimedia supports all network services. The finishing materials are presented by carbon fiber, leather, alcantara and aluminum. The production will begin in 2018.
